Happy 05/05/05!

Nothing else to say, really - I just love dates which make patterns, and it's especially pleasing that we're getting one like this every year at the moment, up to and including 2012. I should have got up at five past five this morning for the full effect, I suppose! Hmmm... maybe I'll save that sort of thing until we get up to 08/08/08.

It's funny you mention 2012, not only is it the year we stop getting dates like this one, but it's also the yaer that the Mayans thought the world would end.

Interesting fact, I just remembered it when you mentioned 2012.

June 6th 2012,,
And then ecologists predict this year will be the bad, bad, bad, storm year=2018 which incidently will start in 2012. a diff of 6 yrs.the date of june 9th 2018,will start the mega-storms. get ready,a storm is coming as Gaia, the earth spirit rebels.Which brings me around to this idea I have been bothering with, the Father,(God),the son,(Jesus) and the Holy Ghost.

Which I firmly believe to be,Gaia. HT

Personally, I'm looking forward to 02 June 2005. Why?

Go into Excel and type this date. Then check for it's number value (38505).
Translate this number into Hexadecimal and you get 9669. A palindromic number.
But here's the freaky thing. Translate it into Binary, and you get 1001011001101001. Another palindromic number.

After that, there's 27th August 2007.
It's number value is 39321.
In Binary this is 1001100110011001.
In Hexadecimal, it's 9999.

Ooh! Although, since I don't use Excel, I don't really understand what you mean by the 'number value' of a date. How is that arrived at?

Each day has a particular number value assigned to it. For example, today is 38477, tomorrow will be 38478 and so on. (I think it takes 01 January 1900 as day 00001.)
