I have this cracky theory that Boe is Dalek Sek.

He probably isn't, but the idea amuses me.

Ha-ha - that would be so funny! And it would fit with him describing himself as 'the last of his kind' in Gridlock, too - which actually rules out either Time Lords or humans if it's taken literally, since Martha and the Doctor are sitting right by him when he says it.

Oh, and I also meant to say - excellent icon!

I never thought of any of the other options, but I can see the Master or Davros being so desperate for eternal life that they wouldn't mind ending up as a head in a jar.

Well, I put Davros in because he did do just that at one point. He's my random wild card, though - I don't think it's actually very likely!

the picture in the icon is really familiar. I think it reminds me of an installation I saw, possibly at the tate mod. But what is it from?

It's Mariko Mori She certainly had an exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery in Hyde Park 9 years ago - it was really cool. She may well have had other London exhibits, too.

Maybe the Face is the Master's Tardis (it has to be somewhere!)

I did wonder about that - or maybe the Doctor's TARDIS, from long after the Doctor himself has died? Especially given the way Boe calls the Doctor an 'old friend', although the Doctor doesn't know him.

Or Boe's jar could be a TARDIS, explaining his apparent ability to zip about in time and space.

Personally, I think the real question is "What about the rest of Boe?"

Oh, indeed - knowing whether there ever was any more of him or not would be very helpful!

Yes, it would be cool. Although sadly unlikely because a) the return of the Master has already confused enough new-comers and b) it wouldn't fit with the Face of Boe describing himself as the 'last of his kind' in Gridlock.

Still, I hope we hear some stuff about the founding trinity some time in the new series.

Interesting thoughts. Although for it to be either Davros or the Master, I think it would require a distinct change of personality, since in the end, Boe gave his life to save others.

What I DO want to know though, is what happened to the Boemina he gave birth to in The Long Game (I think?)! Or even HOW he die!

That was supposed to read how he did, not how he die!
